John Ward Managing Director
John leads JP Aero Com with demonstrable expertise, backed by committed staff determined to succeed in their individual contributions to our success. He has always maintained a strong work ethic, leaving no stone unturned in supplying customers with their exact requirements, top quality, on time, and at realistic prices.
John is a no-nonsense leader who keeps his eye firmly on the ball whilst remaining open to new developments and fresh ideas. And he always treats every customer with the same high level of consideration and care – whether they are large or small. His objective from the start was to achieve the highest standard of quality, followed by service and then price. This is still the company’s policy.
He is a life-long tennis player, a keen gardener and supporter of environmental improvements, and enjoys travel.
Tim Ward Operations Director
Tim joined our subsidiary, Cerdep Engineering Limited, in 1994. After gathering a sound knowledge of precision engineering, he joined the sales and purchasing team of JP Aero Com, where he played a major role in developing a stronger supply chain. With an improved supply relationship, he was able to increase sales to existing customers and develop new accounts. This proved to be his forte and in 2000, he was promoted to Sales Director. In 2013 Tim became Operations Director.
Tim is very keen to take JP Aero Com forward, and initiated the move to obtaining AS9120 approval, followed by SC21, the supply chain management programme sponsored by ADS. These approvals were achieved in 2012. Tim felt that these were integral to our future in the aerospace industry and would also enable expansion into new UK and overseas markets. Tim’s aim is to continually look at ways in which the company can improve and grow.
He is a family man and an ex-professional golfer, still enjoying the sport today, taking part in pro-am and corporate events. Tim also enjoys going to Stamford Bridge to support his football team, Chelsea FC.
Chris Shayler Sales Manager
Chris joined us in 2000 as Sales Manager and IT Administrator, bringing with him 27 years valuable experience in the fastening industry, spent in both purchasing and sales. In addition to taking on responsibility for maintaining major accounts and targeting new business for growth, Chris designed and implemented a new stock location system for us that vastly improved all warehouse functions.
His vast and ever-increasing knowledge of aerospace fastenings coupled with the speed and efficiency with which he works, has led to JP Aero Com being awarded top supplier year-on-year by Raytheon.
Chris’s spare-time interests include growing cacti, coarse fishing, and aviation photography: he has had a lifetime interest in aviation and spent four years in the Air Training Corps.
Martin Porter Sales Executive
When Martin joined us in 2009 he brought with him 15 years’ experience in precision manufacturing in the jewellery industry. He initially joined our warehouse team, where his presence in goods-inwards inspection was immediately felt. Working well under pressure, he then joined the sales team as a permanent member.
Martin’s attention to detail has been an asset throughout his working life. He has been thoroughly trained in-house in all aspects of our operations and now finds great satisfaction in his role as a member of our sales team.
Martin’s interests include football, running and DIY, where, armed with a plastering qualification, he recently renovated his own property.
